Meet Barcelona’s magical mountain with our Montjuic route!
The Montjuic route is an unforgettable journey through the most significant places in this popular area of Barcelona.
Our meeting point will be La Pedrera, on Paseo de Gracia. One of Antoni Gaudí’s most famous monuments.
We will leave from here and pass through the heart of Barcelona, the famous Plaza Catalunya. Then we will go down by one of the most famous streets in Europe, Las Ramblas created in the fifteenth century to raise the fish from the port to the city center. Today, it is the backbone of the most lively and fun area of the city, where we will enjoy seeing how everyone smiles as we pass by in our Seat 600.
At the end of Las Ramblas, we reach the monument tribute to Christopher Columbus (1888), which curiously does not point to America, his great discovery, but the Mediterranean or rather to the Indies which is where he wanted to get, by a path different than the one used until then.
We will turn around the statue and then will turn away from the busy centre, to enjoy the tranquillity of Montjuïc Mountain. One of the key points of Barcelona where you will find some of the city’s most interesting attractions. Considered the “green lung” of Barcelona -together with Collserola- the Montjuïc mountain hides some of the lesser known secrets of the city. We will stop the Seat 600 in the Mirador de l’Alcalde to delight on the majestic views of the city and toast with a glass of champagne (or other drink) while we take some pictures.
Then we will continue our journey to the Olympic area to the Lluis Companys Olympic Stadium (opened on 20.05.1929 in the framework of the International Exhibition), where the most exciting moments were experienced during the 1992 Olympic Games held in the city. We stop briefly to see inside the stadium and continue our journey down the mountain, as we circulate what was the first Formula One street-circuit in 1932.
We can finish where you prefer in the city, like your hotel, favourite restaurant, or a different tourist spot. It will cost less than a taxi or even free.
